I am pro the American Dream.  I think everyone should strive to one day be homeowners.  Just make sure you stay in your price range and stay away from predatory lending.  There are all types of homes for all types of people (small homes, larger homes, condos, townhomes, mobliehomes, garden homes, custom homes, spec homes, lofts, camps, etc...) And if you are worried about a high intrest rate when you rent your intrest rate is 100%.  Point is you are always going to need somewhere to lay your head why not own it.
